Licking County, Ohio

Licking County is a county located in the U.S. state of Ohio. As of the 2010 census, the population was 166,492.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/39/39089.html )〕 Its county seat is Newark.〔(【引用サイトリンク】accessdate=2011-06-07 )〕 The county was formed on January 30, 1808 from portions of Fairfield County. It is named for the salt licks that were in the area.
Licking County is part of the Columbus, OH Metropolitan Statistical Area.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.7%) is water. It is the third-largest county in Ohio by land area.
